Question 1

Where does the score come from?

Accepted Answer

Open PageRank, a free score built from the links between sites in Common Crawl data. It runs from 0 to 10; we multiply it by 10 so it reads like the 0–100 ratings SEO tools use. It updates monthly.

Question 2

Is it the same as Ahrefs DR or Moz DA?

Accepted Answer

No. Each tool counts links its own way, so the numbers differ, but they mostly agree on which sites are strong and which are new. Use one tool consistently to compare sites.

Question 3

Why does a new domain have no score?

Accepted Answer

Open PageRank only scores domains that other sites already link to. A new site gets a score after a few crawls pick up links to it.

Question 4

What score is worth submitting to?

Accepted Answer

Anything 30+ with a dofollow link is worth the few minutes a listing takes. Below that, submit if the directory's audience fits your product, since the traffic can matter more than the link.
